Get ready for some great theatre in Utah during the month of November. This month, we get to see a variety of shows from brand new shows to older shows like Shakespeare and from spectacle musicals to Christmas favorites. This month has something for everyone. So grab your tickets and enjoy the shows!
Not quite over of the haunting month of October, “Wait Until Dark” opened November 1st at Payson Community Theatre and is sure to thrill audiences. Broadway at the Eccles in Salt Lake brings the touring company of “Peter Pan” Tuesday November 5th through November 10th. The National Broadway Tour of “Come From Away” performs November 6-7th in Logan at the Ellen Eccles Theatre.
Then we have quite the collection of shows opening at colleges and universities:
Westminster presents “The Moors”, a dark comedy thriller.
Weber State University is producing Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night.”
Brigham Young University is showing the beloved musical “Crazy For You.”
Snow College is performing the new hit musical “Lightning Thief” based off of Rick Riordan’s best selling Percy Jackson books.
The University of Utah will produce “Spring Awakening.”
The Young Company at BYU OnStage performs “Babe the Sheep Pig”, a show about a pig with big dreams.
Utah Tech presents “Picnic” by William Inge a 1950’s bittersweet melodrama.
Utah State University performs the Utah Premier of “Between the Lines”.
Southern Utah University is showing “Sweet Charity” about the adventures of a New York Taxi dancer.
Beloved musicals like “Into the Woods”, playing at The Empress Theatre and “Beauty and the Beast” at Hale Centre Theater will open mid month. “Annie” will be produced by two companies this month: St. George Musical Theatre and the Egyptian Theater in Park City which will later play at the Egyptian Theater in Ogden. Kind Imagination Source Studios in Salt Lake City will be producing “The Time Keeper Collection”, written and directed by Marie Kind at the Alliance Theater in Trolley Square. Then we have another Shakespeare classic, “Hamlet” at the JAM Collective in Salt Lake City.
As the month comes to a close, many theaters are starting to open their Holiday Shows. Ogden Musical Theatre is producing “The 1940’s Radio Hour” and Heritage Theater is showing the comical show “Nuncrackers”. There will be many chances to see the beloved Christmas show “A Christmas Carol” as it is showing at The Parker Theater in Salt Lake City, Alpine Community Theater, and Hale Center Theater Orem.
