PROVO — The atomic bomb may have ended the Second World War, but the tragic effects did not end with it. For the people of Hiroshima, the bomb continues to fall as its effects take hold of the people, even years after the awful event. This was the message depicted in BYU’s production of “A Thousand Cranes.”

SALT LAKE CITY — Jack and the Beanstalk, at The Children’s Theater in SLC, was a visual delight with natural comedy; it left me feeling joyful and excited. What this cast and crew have grown from the meager beginnings of this fairy tale, is nothing less than magical.

OREM — The inspiration behind Michael Jackson’s Thriller or the dueling gangs of West Side Story just might have been a talented and energetic group of dancers from the ancient city of Ninevah. No, you didn’t miss that part of the well-known Bible story, it was just one of the many entertaining little additions Director Dennis Angle wove into his retelling of the story in Jonah and the Great Fish.

MIDVALE — Take the natural awkwardness of being an adolescent combined with being put in a spotlight and spelling random words no one has ever heard of (let alone used), and then add a little mix of awkward rituals instituted by these kids to achieve perfect spelling—you can’t help but have a HILARIOUS show.
