September is ramping up to have some fun and entertaining productions all the way from St. George to Logan and everywhere in between. Kicking off the month is And Then There Were None at the Springville Playhouse followed by the comical musical, Mrs. Doubtfire on tour and playing at the Eccles in Salt Lake City for just one week. Our chairwoman is headed to Ogden to see God Kinda Looks Like Tupac at the Good Company Theatre and is looking forward to the opportunity to interview the playwright.

Friday September 13th, there are four shows opening in Utah: Bright Star at SCERA in Orem, Jersey Boys at Pioneer Theatre in Salt Lake City, Tuck Everlasting at the Vernal Theatre Live, and Into the Woods at Broadway on the Side in Harrisville. In Logan, Musical Theatre West will be producing the comical spoof on Shakespeare’s plays, Something Rotten. Enjoy a night with the Pleasant Grove Players production of Harvey, a lovable story of an imaginary friend that’s a six foot tall rabbit. Hale Center Theatre in Sandy is thrilled to present the United States Premier of an enchanting new musical, The Magician’s Elephant. Utah Tech University is performing the politically comedic yet edgy play POTUS… or Behind Every Great Dumb*** There are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive by Selina Fillinger.

During the month of September we are also looking forward to attending concerts at the Noorda Center for the Performing arts at UVU for the acclaimed musician Ben Folds and Special Guest Lindsey Kraft and also the talented musical theater singer and actress Jessica Vosk.

Closing out the month, get prepared to see some spooky shows as October approaches with The Adams Family at St. George Musical Theatre.  Southern Utah University will be performing Julius Caesar under the stars in their outdoor Engelstad Shakespeare Theatre to coincide with the Utah High School Shakespeare Competition early in October.  And don’t miss the chance to see two companies put on Woman in Black at both Covey in Provo and Parker Theatre in Salt Lake City. Get excited and grab your tickets to these amazing shows in Utah Theatre.
