*Apologies for publishing this late* It’s hard to believe we have already come to the end of summer and yet here we are. Luckily we have lots of great musicals and plays in Utah to entertain us and get us ready for Fall. Here’s some to look forward to:
In the world of musicals there is lots to offer. First of all we have Hamilton that will be at Eccles for the entire month so don’t miss your chance to see this Tony and Pulitzer prize winning show. Also starting the first weekend of August we have Fiddler on the Roof at Scera, Mamma Mia at Sandy Arts Guild, The Scarlet Pimpernel at Off Broadway in Draper, Mary Poppins at Hopebox and Peter Pan at the Hurricane Theatre. The next week don’t miss The Fantasticks at Sanctuary and Legally Blonde at West Valley Performing Arts. The weekend of the 16th we have Anastasia at Heritage Theatre and Bandstand at the new DoGood Theatre in Pleasant Grove. Finally we round out the month with The Addams Family at Hale Centre Theatre Sandy, The Drowsy Chaperone at The Grand Theatre, Beauty and the Beast at the Ziegfeld and Fiddler on the Roof at the Empress in Magna. Also if you want a little of everything check out Disney on the Side at Broadway on the Side Aug 2-3 in Ogden.
As far as straight plays we’ve got you covered there as well. Riff Raff Theatre in Ogden is giving a theatrical experience with 7 Scary Stories. As well as down in Provo Day Dreamer Theatre has the original production Constellations. Beginning Aug 3rd don’t miss Shakespeare’s Twelth Night at the Parker Theatre in Salt Lake and Peter and the Starcatcher at Murray City Arts. Arsenic and Old Lace will entertain at both Hale Center Theatre Orem and down south at The Stage Door Theatre Company in St George.
Let us know what you are going to be enjoying all over our great state. There’s certainly so much to chose from!
