The main type of content for UTBA is reviews of productions that are performed in Utah. The goal for UTBA is to one day review every theatrical production in the state. UTBA does not review dance and ballet productions, opera, performance art, high school plays, or remountings of productions that have been reviewed in the past. UTBA also does not review productions that the cast has paid to participate in (with the exception of a low costume fee, or similar nominal production fee). Other special types of performances—like staged readings, musical revues, improvised productions, and foreign language theatre—may be reviewed, depending on the circumstances and the availability of qualified reviewers.
