SALT LAKE CITY — As members of the Utah Theatre Bloggers Association, my wife and I had the privilege of attending an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the hit Broadway musical Frozen coming to Utah in the spring of 2020. Hosted by the Disney Theatrical Group, Broadway Across America, and Zions Bank Broadway at the Eccles, this was an unforgettable evening that showed just how fantastic Frozen will be when housed by the Delta Performance Hall.

With video interviews of the Broadway traveling cast members who will perform during the North American tour accompanied by brief messages from Frozen writer Jennifer Lee and musical geniuses Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. These people are the same creative team that produced the Academy Award-winning animated film and were key in transforming the timeless story into a stage-worthy production.

The highlight of the evening was most definitely visitor and star Alyssa Fox, who has played Elsa on the Broadway stage. Fox put on a private performance of the Disney song you probably know all of the words to: “Let It Go.” We were blown away, nevertheless unsurprised that Disney hires only the most incredible performers and producers.

With magical stagecraft, beautiful set and costume design, and talented cast members, Frozen promises to be a hit here in Utah, just as it was in New York City.

The national tour of Frozen is scheduled to be performed at the Eccles Theater (131 Main Street, Salt Lake City) on a variety of days and times from April 15 to May 3, 2020. Ticket pricing and show information will become available on October 25, 2019. For more information, visit www.broadway-at-the-eccles.com/events.
